Eco-Chic Cork

Cork is the modern, eco-friendly, cruelty-free alternative to leather. It’s not only beautiful, it’s lightweight, durable, water resistant, fire retardant, abrasion resistant and hypoallergenic. Our amazing cork collection is all made from the bark of the Oak Cork Tree growing in southwest Europe and northwest Africa with the majority in Portugal. Once the Cork Oak Tree reaches the age of 25 its virgin cork bark can be harvested. Each year between May and August professional harvesters stage their annual harvest. During harvest, the tree is carefully and manually stripped of its bark. The tree is never cut down or harmed in any way during this process. After harvest, each tree is marked with the last number of the year for future identification. Each harvested tree will naturally regenerate bark and be ready for harvest again in 9 years. The bark slabs are transported to processing plants, stabilized for 6 months and then sterilized before being classified into quality grades for different uses. The Cork Oak Tree lives 150-200 years on average and is protected by law in Portugal.

Soft – cork is as buttery soft as worn in leather. Cork is the best alternative to animal leather.  You will be amazed at how soft it is.

Washable – cork doesn’t require any special conditioning to maintain. It is naturally resistant to dust, dirt and stains making it easy to maintain its beauty.  

Hypoallergenic – cork does not absorb dust. It is an excellent alternative for allergy sufferers.

Recycle & Rethink - Recycled U.S. Military Tents

Our recycled U.S. Military tent bags are just that; canvas tents that have been used by the U.S military in combat or in training and recycled into the incredible bags you see here. As a result, each bag has differences in genuine imperfections, stains, and colors. The tent bags are a tribute to the sacrifices and contributions of military veterans. Your bag will be as unique as each soldier’s experience when in the field seeking shelter in these tents.

Once the tents are obtained, they go through an extensive 3-part cleaning process. However, the cleaning process does not and cannot remove the stains from mold, mildew, and the effects of rugged exposure to the elements endured by soldiers every day whether in combat or training. Should you see visible stains, please know they are NOT active mildew or mold, but rather just stains.
